Los Angeles Fashion Schools & Programs

American InterContinental University grants associate degrees in fashion design and fashion marketing. If you're looking for a variety of program concentrations, the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing awards associate degrees in 14 different fashion-related majors. For a variety of program lengths, California Design College offers certificates and degrees in fashion design, associate degrees in fashion marketing and advanced fashion design & merchandising technology, and a bachelor's degree in fashion marketing & management, while California State University gives certificates in fashion design and fashion merchandising and bachelor and master degrees in fashion and textiles.

From 2002 to 2012, California's Employment Development Department projects employment to grow in Los Angeles County by 5.8% for fashion designers, 19.9% for in-store fashion merchandisers and similar positions, and 22.1% for set and exhibit designers. However, employment is expected to be down slightly for tailors and dressmakers and down significantly for patternmakers and other occupations affiliated with actual apparel production.
