A multitude of employers and numerous vet-related educational programs, including one set on a 200-acre working farm right in Los Angeles, could make L.A. a great place for you to launch your veterinary studies and career. This metro area is home to two horse health science centers: Mt. San Antonio College Equine Center and the Equine Research Center at Cal Polytechnic in Ponoma. Also, the Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is one of the most active national SPCA chapters. Its services include animal assisted therapy, dog behavior training, and animal rescue teams that provide emergency medical care in case of disaster or abuse. |
